How Does the Air Mile Conversion Work

To understand how air miles conversion work, let’s assume a Maybank Islamic World Mastercard Ikhwan cardholder has spent a total of RM3,000 a month which amounts up to 10,000 Treats Points. From 10,000 Treats Points, only 6,360 can be redeemed on Air Miles. The remaining Treats Points amounting up to 3,640 will be the remaining balance in this case, which means the cardholder will have to earn at least 2,720 Treats Points in the subsequent months for air miles redemption.

Retail Type Monthly Spend TreatsPoints Rate Total TreatsPoints Air Miles Redeemed
    Local Purchases RM2,000 RM2= 5 TreatsPoints 5,000 TreatsPoints 6,360 Air Miles

    Q. Can the air miles be cancelled after conversion?

    A. No. Once the Air Miles are converted, and are transferred to the frequent flyer programme of the airline, the redemption cannot be cancelled.

    Q. How will my overseas expenses be calculated?

    A. All transactions made overseas will be converted from the foreign currency to Ringgit Malaysia on the date of the transaction. The amount will reflect on your monthly statement.
